Hedge Planting - Widley Gardens
Privett Road, Widley Waterlooville

In December we will plant a third section of native species hedge and weed around the sections of hedge we planted previously.

Meet at the corner of Privett Road and Widley Gardens at 9.30am.  Parking in Widley Gardens.

Please bring gardening gloves.  Boots or stout shoes are recommended.

We welcome new volunteers, so if you would like to join us please come along.  You do not need experience of conservation work and there is no obligation to attend every task.  Please see the FAQs or contact us for more information.  If you have not worked with the group before, it would be helpful if you could let us know you will join us.

Penjar Pond
Penjar Pond, Purbrook Waterlooville

In February we will cut part of the hedge at Penjar Pond to ground level to encourage bushy growth low down and reduce the height of the remainder.  We will cut the other half next year,

We will also clear brambles and other vegetation from the side of the new path and cut back grass growing over the kerb.

Meet at Penjar Pond at 9.30am.  A free car park is on the opposite side of Ladybridge Road.

Please bring gardening gloves.  Boots or stout shoes are recommended.

Removing Spanish Bluebells - Sandy Dell
Sandy Dell, Widley Waterlooville

In May we will continue removing invasive Spanish bluebells from Sandy Dell to allow native bluebells to be planted.  We will then move on to the woodland at the side of Widley Gardens.

Meet at the corner of Privett Road and Widley Gardens at 9.30am.  Parking in Widley Gardens.

Please bring gardening gloves and a kneeling pad would be useful.  Boots or stout shoes are recommended.
