In January we will prepare the ground and plant a hedge on the edge of the small woodland at Widley Gardens.
We will plant three rows of a variety of native species trees with hawthorn and blackthorn in the middle. The objective is to create a dense hedge that will provide nesting habitat for birds, flowers giving nectar for insects, a food source and year-round colour.
We will also spread wood chips to suppress weeds and help to retain moisture in the soil.
Meet at the corner of Privett Road and Widley Gardens at 9.30am
Boots or stout shoes are advised.
