We have removed a total of 26 bags of Spanish bluebells from Sandy Dell and we have planted 1,000 English bluebell bulbs there.  We would like to plant some more, but before we can do that we need to remove any remaining Spanish bluebells and hybrids.  There should not be many left and they will be in flower, so it ought to be easy to tell the difference between the two species although full instructions will be given.

We would like to take the opportunity to remove Spanish bluebells from the side of Privett Road and the wooded area next to Widley Gardens so that they can also be replaced.

In the unlikely event that we run out of Spanish bluebells and hybrids we can continue with the removal of other invasive species.

Meet at the corner of Widley Gardens and Privett Road at 9.30am.  Parking is available in Widley Gardens.

Boots or stout shoes are advised.

We welcome new volunteers, so if you would like to join us please come along.  You do not need experience of conservation work and there is no obligation to attend every task.  Please refer to the FAQs or use the Contact Us form to request more information.
